Inventory & Inbound

Storage: what it costs, and when it starts

Free while your stock moves. What happens when it stops.

The rule

Storage is free while your stock is moving on normal order flow.

If a specific item has no orders for 90 days or more, and stays at zero, storage on that item starts at $50 per pallet per month.

That is the whole policy. It is aimed at stock that has stopped selling and is holding space, not at your working inventory.

What this means in practice

Three things worth drawing out, because merchants tend to assume the worst.

It is per item, not per account. A product that stopped selling starts accruing. Everything else you hold, still moving, stays free.

The clock is 90 days at zero. Not slow. Zero. A product selling a handful a month is moving, and is free.

It starts after the 90 days, not retroactively. You are not billed for the quarter it took to find out the product was dead.

If you sell on demand, this does not apply

Products sourced per order are bought when the order arrives. Nothing sits in the warehouse, so there is nothing to store and nothing to pay.

This is worth remembering when you are choosing how to run a product. Holding stock ships faster and usually prices better. Sourcing on demand carries no holding risk at all. For anything unproven, on demand is the cheaper way to be wrong.

Watching for it

Two columns on the Inventory screen tell you what you need.

  • Sold, over your selected date range. Set it to 30 or 90 days and anything reading zero is a candidate.
  • Inventory value, which is what that dead stock is worth sitting still.

Stock and Inbound together are what you plan against.

A quarterly habit worth having: set the range to 90 days, sort by Sold, and look at the bottom of the list. Those are the products to discount, bundle, or clear before they start costing you.

Getting stock out

No penalty, no minimum period, no notice requirement.

Tell us where to send it. You pay the transport and a pallet handling fee. That is it.

Your options are usually: ship it to yourself or another warehouse, ship it to a buyer if you are clearing it, or dispose of it locally, which for genuinely dead low-value stock is often the cheapest answer.

Frequently asked

What if I have half a pallet? Ask support for the treatment on part pallets before you plan around it.

Does one dead product make everything chargeable? No. Item by item.

A product sells two a month. Is that moving? Yes. The rule is zero orders for 90 days.

Can I get stock back if I stop trading with you? Yes. No minimum contract, cancel at any time. You cover transport and pallet handling.
