Dropshipping Calculator: work out your landed cost

Landed cost for any product, in under 20 seconds.

By Peregrine Ship Updated Aug 22, 2026

What it does

Give it a product and it matches it against our supplier network and works out your landed cost: the product, plus shipping to the market you sell into.

Most matches come back in under 20 seconds.

Do not let the name put you off. This is the fastest route from "I found a product" to "here is what it actually costs me."

Use it

  1. Open Dropshipping Calculator.
  2. Give it the product, three ways:
  • Paste a product page link
  • Upload a photo
  • Select product to pick from your catalogue
  1. Choose your destination market.
  2. Press Calculate Landed Cost.
The Shipping Calculator with destination country, package weight, package type and a contains battery toggle
Destination, weight and battery are what move the price.

One product at a time. A photo or a catalogue product is matched by image, so a clear photo works even with no link.

Landed cost, and why it is the only number that matters

Landed cost is what it costs to get one unit into your customer's hands. Product plus shipping.

The trap is pricing off the product cost alone. A $6 product with $7 shipping is a $13 product, and a $19 selling price that looked like a 68% margin is closer to 32%. Shipping is not a detail on top, it is often the larger half.

Check the market you actually sell to. The same product to the US and to Australia are different businesses.

Saved quotes and the simulator

Saved quotes keeps results so you can compare products side by side without redoing the work. Useful when you are working through a shortlist.

Order Simulator models a fuller order rather than a single unit, which is worth using if you sell bundles or multi-item orders.

How Pricing Works, top right, explains the pricing model.

Then check your margin honestly

The calculator gives you landed cost. It does not know:

  • What you spend on ads
  • Payment processing on your store
  • Refunds, chargebacks and the occasional replacement
  • Any duty or VAT at the destination

Take your selling price, subtract landed cost, and treat what is left as the budget for all of the above plus profit. A product that clears $4 after landed cost is not a $4 profit product.

Bulky products

If the item is large and light, work out its volumetric weight before you trust any shipping figure. SeeShipping Calculator, which covers chargeable weight and the arithmetic.

This is the one case where a quote can look fine and the real cost lands well above it.

Frequently asked

Can I use it before I have sourced anything? Yes, that is the point. No link, only a photo? Upload the photo. Nothing came back. Ask for a human quote through Quotation. SeeWhere the products are. Is the number binding? It is an estimate for planning. Get it quoted before you commit. Several products at once? One at a time, and save the results. Difference between this and the Shipping Calculator? This prices product plus shipping. The other prices shipping only, for a parcel weight you already know.
